We had the opportunity to participate in a study conducted by with Andreia Trigo, founder of Enhance Fertility program that has been recently published in the latest edition of the Fertility Conference 2021: Barriers and breakthroughs held during the week of January 6-10, 2021.
The aim of the study was to assess patients’ worries and concerns, and their ability to cope with stress and emotions before starting fertility treatment.
A total of 36 patients participated in the study and answered the survey. Our clinics in Alicante, Madrid and San Sebastian were involved in the recruitment of patients, along with our colleagues from RHG, which all belong to the IVF Life Group.
Participants were patients, mostly between 31 and 45 years old, from Europe and Africa, who had been trying to conceive for over 2 years. Conclusions found were the following:
- Patients are mostly concerned about the uncertainty of their reproductive future and stress at work/outside home. Patients still reported low ability to cope with stress and emotions.
- A significant number of patients were also concerned about their finances, health and weight.
Confounding factors, like the coronavirus in recent times.
We started our collaboration with Andreia Trigo in 2018 with an aim to understanding the strategies and tools we can provide our patients to improve their experience during fertility treatment. Since then we have collaborated with her in several projects, including this study which provides an excellent example of our commitment towards patient care and well-being of our patients.
